Cisco and Apple are taking a little extra time to work out the iPhone trademark spat.
A terse joint statement reads:
"Apple and Cisco have agreed to extend the time for Apple to respond to the lawsuit to allow for discussions between the companies with the aim of reaching agreement on trademark rights and interoperability."
We've heard the two parties were allegedly close to an agreement before so don't get too excited. Neither company wants a drawn out legal battle, but Cisco still holds the cards. After all, Apple is launching its iPhone in June.
