On November 15th it's going to be Sarbanes-Oxley show time for many organizations. (Public companies with a market capitalization of $75 million of more must meet the Nov. 15 deadline. Companies whose market cap is less have until July 15, 2005.) But as the clock ticks away, most still don't have a plan for auditing and archiving instant messages. According to Giga Information Group, less than one in 10 organizations use enterprise-grade IM capable of encrypting and retaining logs of instant messages.
