DocuSign is aiming to making digital signatures more accessible and easier to use with its latest release of DocuSign for Salesforce.

The cloud-based service is accessible from "any browser" and supports "virtually any document type" on desktop/laptop computers and mobile devices. Users can enter data and then initial, date, and sign contracts online within minutes while automatically updating Salesforce account data.

Here's a rundown of the major enhancements to the platform:

  • Single log on functionality that enables users to automatically sign into DocuSign with an existing Salesforce username and password
  • Integration with Salesforce Content, Box.net, Dropbox and Google Docs for quicker file sending and signing
  • Integrated into Salesforce Chatter so users can keep track of all documents in real time
  • Collaboration changes are tracked, saved and sent to all parties
  • Users can drag data fields from Salesforce into documents for merging without any additional programming
  • Now location-aware for common languages in more than 50 countries covering 66 percent of the world where DocuSign can be used to securely sign legal documents
  • In-person signing using mobile devices (i.e. iPad) to hand to close a deal with a customer on the spot
