From IT Facts: According to the Radicati Group,  today 13.9 billion instant messages are sent per day. By 2009 that number will reach 46.5 billion. David and I will account for much of the latter number. Also, News.com's Ina Fried explores the problem of digital communications, which are supposed to make our working lives run more smoothly, are preventing some of us from getting critical tasks accomplished. In the article Carl Honore, author of "In Praise of Slowness : How A Worldwide Movement Is Challenging the Cult of Speed," estimates that wired workers are interrupted every three minutes. Sounds about right...
