EMC maintains storage market share lead, field heats up

EMC maintained its healthy market share lead in storage systems for the fourth quarter, but the field is getting more competitive.

Overall, fourth quarter external storage system revenue was $6.1 billion, up 16.2 percent from a year ago.  Total disk storage systems were up 14.3 percent from a year ago. The trends for the fourth quarter were similar to previous ones. EMC and NetApp showed the fastest growth.

I wonder how much of the DELL market share is re-badged EMC hardware?
Looks like EMC is flying high in the SAN market.

How many quarters to go before NetApp overtakes EMC? They seem to be growing at twice the rate, so it shouldn't be too long by the looks!

IBM also sell NetApp's kit - I wonder if these figures are also included in NetApp's numbers?

I like EMC as a hardware storage.It's a good product and I have used it for data recovery. I've lost files when my PC broke down like documents for research study about the effects breast implants before and after ,also scanned brochures and information files about apartments in Jamaica and lots and lots of cool pictures. I was able to recover all datas.
