@mickeyg59 ...but merely incorporates the Android OS, as an add-on feature. That's why when you run Android applications they appear exactly as they would on a typical 4" (or less) smartphone display -- which must look seriously unusual on the Edge's much larger screen.
As to getting 'decent' apps from Android Market, that could be tricky if your edge is using one of the older versions of Android...like, say, 1.6. In that case, very few cool apps will apply and - due to Android Market rules - you won't even be able to see them, while perusing AM from your Edge.
Of course, folks using the original iPhone have a similar problem. Not only are latest versions of iOS at least somewhat incompatible, but also many of the latest, coolest App Store offerings won't work well, if at all. (For example, Apple's first-generation handsets have no GPS radio.)
The good news: with Android, you can usually download & test any app, just for laughs. Simply go to Settings and enable 'Install Non-Market Apps'. Then, go app-shopping at AppBrain or AndroLib or any of the other competing (non-Google) repositories. Here's where to look in Settings.:
