Google announced Wednesday that it has launched a new iPhone application that ties together its various services--search, Gmail, Calendar, Reader and Maps--into one interface.

If you're an iPhone user you can see the interface at Google.com.

In a statement, Google said it is building the interface via browser technologies such as AJAX (Techmeme).

It's likely that the iPhone will be a key testing ground as Google works on its mobile software and bids for wireless spectrum. Google has been launching new mobile features such as My Location. Google said:

Google's overall goal is to provide users with access to information, wherever they are. This commitment is device-independent, and we are working to develop new mobile technologies that are faster, easier to use, and available on more devices.

  • Sweet. Just iPod'ed it....

Quite nice and beats their beat mobil page the iPod defaults to.

  • Ditto, Bruizer!

Definitely a nice rework of the Google entries for iPhone users. Calendar needs some
work (editing, deletion, etc) but quick, visible access to not only search but your Gmail
is great...avoid having to create another mail account on the iPhone's email section.

    Party on, Garth!!

This is great, hopefully with the release of the official iPhone SDK Google will go a step further and make a iPhone native interface for these services as well.
