We screwed up. Due to a coding error -- specifically, a troublesome text field on our entry form -- some users were prevented from entering ZDNet's tablet giveaway.

We're very sorry about the glitch.

We've since identified and fixed the issue, however, so feel free to enter the contest again before the deadline. (You can do so right here.)

It would be better if you only asked for the year of birth and not month/day as this information can be used for identity theft. Let's not make it easier for thieves.

Year only would not be enough to verify age the age requirement. You may be born in the proper year but still not be old enough to enter.

If you are going to restrict things like this to USA only, PLEASE SAY SO somewhere outside of the find-print !!!! Or better yet, don't restrict!

@bjswm@... Remember that little box you're supposed to check before submitting your entry? Says something about "I have read...the Official Rules". The rules are pretty clear! Did you actually read them? hmmmm? 8->

Besides, it's probably not ZDNet that's limiting the giveaway to the good ol' USofA, but more likely, the *supplier* of the device ... need we say: Apple?
