Infor landing Lawson, or close to it
Summary: Lawson appears to be close to being acquired by Infor and Golden Gate Capital, according to a press release that may have launched too early.
Lawson appears to be close to being acquired by Infor and Golden Gate Capital.
The software company was entertaining a bid from Infor and now the deal could be official. It appears that Infor may have jumped the gun on a press release that was later pulled. The release, spotted by WSJ's Deal Journal blog, is saved via a Google Web cache. It's unclear whether the release is authentic and we have calls out to Infor (the contact listed is an Infor spokesman).
In a nutshell:
- Infor says it will integrate Lawson's applications "as soon after closing as possible."
- The deal---terms weren't disclosed---close in the third quarter.
- Lawson gives Inform financial and human resources applications.
- The deal gives Infor more exposure to key verticals.
