Mozilla Firefox for Android: My most valuable app

Mozilla launched its Firefox 4 for Android and the mobile browser has come a long way through its beta. In fact, it's my most valuable app on my HTC Incredible and its importance will only get larger as more Android tablets hit the market.

Admittedly, my smartphone usage isn't the most cutting edge. I may have 10 go-to apps and the rest are diversions at best or crap at worst. My phone is primarily a hotspot and a Web browser and the Firefox integration with my browser is a big help. It became my go-to browser with the last update in the beta.

The real win for Firefox's mobile browser will come with tablets. Simply put, the browser experience matters more on a tablet and the larger screen.

Now there are knocks against Firefox for Mobile and the biggest one is that the browser doesn't support Adobe's Flash. It does support HTML 5 though. There are a lot of complaints about the lack of Flash on the Firefox's Android version. I haven't missed Flash all that much, but that's likely to change if I use the browser on a tablet.

Overall, however, the ability to sync my desktop browsing experience is the big win. That feature trumps all because it merges how we actually hop from device to device Web browsing.
