NetApp on Wednesday acquired Akorri Networks, which provides capacity analytics for virtualized information technology resources. With the move, NetApp will be able to bolster its OnCommand performance capacity product line.
Akorri’s flagship product is called BalancePoint, which optimizes data center infrastructure with an emphasis on servers and storage. In a graphic, here’s what Akorri does:
According to a statement, the acquisition will close in NetApp’s fiscal fourth quarter. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, but NetApp is paying cash.
NetApp’s plan for Akorri goes like this:
- NetApp gives Akorri a strong enterprise sales channel and a large account base;
- Akorri will round out NetApp’s OnCommand analytics products;
- The combined companies will be better positioned to offer broader IT analytics.
