On the heels of Salesforce.com's acquisition of AppExchange partner Kieden's search engine keyword management and tracking application, and in the honorable spirit of on demand, SaaS vendor competition and a significant market opportunity, NetSuite announced today the NetSuite Keyword Marketing Module. Unlike Salesforce for Google AdWords, NetSuite's solution also works with Yahoo's Sponsored Search, and is included in the NetSuite ($99 per user per month, including accounting/ERP modules) and NetSuite CRM+ ($125 per user per month, with order, incentive and partner management capabilities) offerings. Salesforce for Google Adwords will be $300 per organizaton per month when it is released later this year. Salesforce.com's CRM application starts at $65 per user per month.

NetSuite claims that having the search engine marketing module built-in and home grown is preferable to Salesforce.com's AppExchange approach of integrated third-party solutions, although now that the company has acquired the Kieden software it could be considered built in. With standards, Web services, mashups and API interfaces, the home grown vs. third-party integration is becoming more of a non-issue.
