NetSuite, a cloud ERP company, is branching out to be a commerce engine.

Specifically, NetSuite launched a commerce as a service effort designed to integrate business-to-business, consumer and machine-to-machine transactions.

The platform behind the commerce engine is dubbed NetSuite SuiteCommerce, which is a central system that manages all transactions and customer interactions via the Web, mobile, social and brick-and-mortar.

Many companies are targeting clicks to bricks models, but NetSuite is hoping that connecting back-end data will be a differentiator as it connects ERP/CRM with customer touch points.

With the move, NetSuite is also hoping to use commerce to displace on-premise rivals such as Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, Sage and SAP as well as vendors like Magneto and Demandwire.

The company in San Francisco will tout SuiteCommerce's development framework to create unique customer experiences, services that bring back-end data to front-end applications and native business processing capabilities.

SuiteCommerce is available today.
