Job cuts at HP, the Steve Jobs Q&A at D8, Google’s farewell to Windows and Intel’s news from Computex are among today’s top headlines. Get the rolling posts via Twitter, RSS, or email.

Here’s a look at Wednesday, June 2:

The news of job cuts is never easy and HP, as a part of a restructuring and reinvestment of its enterprise services unit, had to drop the bomb: 9,000 positions will be cut over the next three years. That’s a blow, but as the company restructures, it will eventually add back 6,000 positions.

Steve Jobs kicked off the D8 conference with a Q&A session that didn’t provide any news - those headlines come next week when Jobs delivers the opening keynote at Apple’s Worldwide Developer’s Forum. Jobs did, however, provide some insight into Flash, the lost/stolen iPhone, AT&T and iPads.

Google is done with Microsoft Windows and is phasing out Windows PCS for employee use, pushing Mac or Linux instead because they’re more secure - but is that a valid argument? Finally, take a poll and cast your vote to “Which OS is most secure?

Intel grabbed a couple of headlines of its own at the Computex show: a demonstration of Sandy Bridge, it’s next-generation microarchitecture, as well as announcements of dual-cores for netbooks and Oak Trail for tablets.
