It sounds like the tools in HP’s garage are about to kick into gear. The company has dropped $12 million to acquire Phoenix Technologies HyperSpace assets, the technology behind instant-on boot-ups. Team that with Palm’s WebOS and one might think that some new platform is in the works.
Motorola and RIM have officially kissed and made up. After being caught up in a patent lawsuit battle for several years, the two companies have finally reached an agreement that settles all of their worldwide disputes.
AT&T put itself out on a limb when it pulled the plug on its unlimited data package - and it’s starting to feel lonely out there. As for what’s next, neither of the two scenarios offered by a Wall Street analyst is too appealing. 
Pew says the cloud is the future - by 2020, most people will conduct everyday computing tasks by way of cloud-based apps. But with a global footprint, can the cloud avoid government?
