Mashup Camp (and Mashup University) at the Computer History Museum in Silicon Valley are just around the corner. I'm heading out to Mountain View on Saturday to put the finishing touches on the event. University starts on Monday and includes a great lineup of classes starting with an introduction to mashup programming taught by TagCloud developer John Herren. Then, just before Camp starts, we're going to hold a pre-party at the Hotel Avante on Tuesday night with Camp starting on Wednesday morning.

I'll be bringing my one-man video crew Matt Conner along and I'll be looking to capture as many cool mashups on video as I can for posting here on ZDNet. It's one of the reasons I started Mashup Camp. Back when I first saw the mashup ecosystem spinning up and realized its significance, there was no single event I could attend in order to cover all the new mashups that were coming out as well as the technologies and APIs that the mashup developers were using. So, I found some help from Doug Gold and we created that event. We started with Camp first and then added University as another two-day component.

In addition to me giving some ZDNet airtime to mashup developers via video demos, the folks in the human resource department at ZDNet's parent company CNET Networks signed on as sponsors earlier this week and will be there in recruiting mode looking for talented developers. So, if you're a mashup developer or just a mashup-curious software developer, now, there's one more reason to come over to Mashup University and Mashup Camp (you could end up with a job at a very cool company..... O.K., I'm a bit biased on that point). We'll be starting with breakfast at 7:30am on all four days. So far, more than 300 people have signed up to attend. Hope to see you there.
