Opera launches latest browser beta: Tab stacking nice feature

Opera released the beta of its Opera 11 browser with a nice feature for those of us that are heavy on the tabs: Stacking.

In a nutshell, tab stacking allows you to group tabs by category (see Opera blog post). When you hover over a tab you can see more options. If you frequently have 15 to 20 tabs open this feature could be quite handy.

This storing of tabs looks like this:

Opera’s feature is something that’s likely to be integrated into other tabbed browsers. The big question is whether tabbed browsing will entice you to give Opera’s latest browser a spin.

I downloaded the beta & tried tab stacking - it is amazing.
one thing that is not reported is one can select a particular stacked tab by hovering over the stacked tabs & selecting the required tab from the displayed thumbnails.

Thumbs up for Opera, with a caveat

I love Opera because it's fast and not as prone to attack as IE and Firefox. I wish the Opera developers would fix how it prints, however. It prints in type much smaller than other browsers, so the printed page is harder to read.

Will never use Opera

Not because it's inferior in any way, or doesn't have some very compelling features. No, I simply refuse to use them out of pure ethics. Running to the EU with a bogus antitrust complaint and using it to manipulate the EU in effort to obtain a higher market share was ridiculous. I'm not saying that Microsoft is a pussycat, or woe is Microsoft, but what Opera did was disgusting. In the end, it would have been cheaper just to toss Opera half of the money spent using the European tax payer's money and everyone would have come out far ahead.

Then I guess you'll boycott Google, Mozilla and Microsoft too, right?

After all, Google has filed its own antitrust complaints against Microsoft, and Microsoft has filed antitrust complaints against Google.

Google and Mozilla joined the EU antitrust complaint as well.

So what are you going to do now?

Boycott all of them?
