Oracle is launching a new partner program for independent software providers dedicated to optimizing applications to run on Oracle's Exadata Database Machine and Exalogic Elastic Cloud.

The most basic idea behind the Oracle Exastack Program isn't far off from the reasoning behind why many developers and enterprises are heading for the cloud. That is to say that Oracle is touting the Exastack program as a way to bump up performance on these applications and databases while reducing costs.

Additionally, ISPs and members of Oracle's Partner Network should be able to build and deploy these products faster.

Once these apps are completed, developers can submit them to be certified as Oracle Exastack Ready (i.e. for support on Linux, WebLogic, Solaris, etc.) for additional branding and promotional benefits. From here there are levels of benefits depending on the participant's membership level (i.e. Gold, Diamond or Platinum).

For anyone with a membership level above Gold, there is Oracle Exastack Optimized, which offers more technical resources from Oracle as well as and dedicated Oracle Exastack lab environments for testing an application's performance and scalability on an Oracle Exadata Database Machine or the Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud.

The Oracle Exastack Ready program is open to partners immediately.  Guidelines for Oracle Exastack Optimized and Exastack Labs, along with more technical and educational resources, will be available in this fall.
