This week on the Dan and David Show, which is actually the David and Larry show since Dan is on vacation, we discuss Opera's complaint in the EU against Microsoft over the IE-Windows bundle and Web standards. David thinks that Opera is in trouble and that's why it's reaching for the complaint. I argue that Opera's complaint wouldn't have a chance in the U.S. but the EU is far less friendly to Microsoft. With Opera's home court advantage anything is possible.

David explains the importance of Bebo's big move to link up with Facebook applications. What's it mean for Google OpenSocial? Not much at this point, David says. It's likely Bebo will hook into OpenSocial too.

And finally, David and I talked AMD, which held its analyst meeting today and also saw its Barcelona performance results invalidated by SPEC. Is the glass half full--or empty? After a lot of back and forth, we both came down on the side that AMD has to execute better before it talks about any of that "half full" stuff.

  • Podcast

I got the same podcast as last week. For some reason.
I had to download it manually from the site and then replace the file in iTunes.

    • And

And for some reason this podcast cut out before the end.

      • And more

I had to load it in a coder-software and generate a new MP3-file to make it not to cut out 20 sec before the end. It happened one time before. Guess it is iTunes.

        • Same here

They've linked the wrong MP3 off the podcast's page, as well as in the RSS feed (and therefore also in iTunes). The correct version is indeed downloadable via the Flash player on the page.

I've had a similar problem with ZDNet podcasts simply not playing on my iPod touch; recoding them does fix the issue. I've never had that problem with any other podcast I've listened to.

I'll note in passing that this isn't the first time we end up with the previous week's D&D show in the feed. Perhaps some process improvement is called for...?

Your articles seem to be more like ambulance chasing looking for the negative side of things that have no relevance.
