Reuters launches own YouTube channel with news, analysis programming

By | January 17, 2012, 12:44pm PST

Summary: Reuters follows the path of other news organizations online and starts its own YouTube channel with original content.

Just on the heels of the news that YouTube is the untouched powerhouse in online video content, Reuters has unveiled its own channel on the popular video sharing site.

Reuters TV is starting off with 10 new channels dedicated to news, commentary and analysis. The majority of the programming will focus on harder-hitting topics, such as politics, finance, and investigative reporting.

Reuters boasts that these channels will feature reports and commentary from nearly 3,000 of its reporters scattered all over the world.

Along with Reuters, YouTube already plays host to close to 100 other global news organizations offering video content through the Google-owned site, including CNN, the BBC, and France 24.

In case you have trouble accessing YouTube at work or elsewhere, Reuters will also be making this content available at its main website.
