Multiple sources are indicating that Salesforce.com may be close to acquiring Assistly with an announcement slated for Dreamforce next week.
The rumors of an acquisition of Assistly make sense. For starters, Salesforce is already an investor in the company, which provides a helpdesk service that integrates CRM and social streams. In a nutshell, Assistly aggregates customer feedback streams from multiple systems and sources.
Salesforce.com has been shopping of late via the acquisitions of Radian6, Jigsaw, Heroku and others.
The purchase of Assistly still isn't a lock, but strategically the acquisition would make sense. Assistly's functionality would wrap into Salesforce.com's Service Cloud nicely. The chatter on the deal is strong enough that it's worth a mention.
Pricing on the deal is still sketchy. Salesforce.com said it wouldn't comment on rumors. Assistly CEO Alex Bard said he wouldn't comment on rumors either, but noted that "we are working on a product integration which we will announce at Dreamforce."
