Samsung's Galaxy S: Check out the screen

The screen on the Samsung Galaxy S, announced at CTIA, is an eyecatcher

Special Report: CTIA Wireless There are a lot of mobile phones to touch, feel and swipe on displays throughout the expo hall at the CTIA Wireless show. But one device, in particular, caught my attention before I read a word about it - all because of the screen.

The device is the Samsung Galaxy S, a new Android-powered smartphone announced this week. Yeah, it's a nice little device with some impressive features - a 5-megapixel camera, HD video recording, WiFi and 16 gigabytes of storage.

But it was the screen, a 4-inch Super AMOLED, that impressed me the most - and not because of its on-paper description. It was the way it looked as I held it in-hand and turned it in different directions. There was very little glare and you could still see the images nicely even from odd angles. But don't take my word for it - check out my 15-second (or so) video below.

The Galaxy S was announced without a price, without a release date and without a carrier partner. It's an Android phone - and a nice one at that - so I'm hoping it makes its way to Verizon. I've been holding out for the Nexus One to arrive, after holding out in hopes that an iPhone land on the Verizon lineup.

So many choices and they just keep getting better. At this rate, I'll be waiting for the next best thing forever.
