SAP, Google expand collaboration partnership, eye enterprise mashups

SAP and Google said Wednesday that they are expanding a partnership to take large data sets and integrate them into Google Maps, Earth, Docs and other products. For SAP, which in pushing its analytics software, the Google partnership can help visualize big data better by streaming information into Google Maps.

The two companies have been working together on SAP StreamWork and various integration points with Google Apps.

A primary theme for the partnership is so-called location-based intelligence, which revolves around bringing enterprise data to geospatial tools, street level views and local trends. The aim is to meld consumer and enterprise tools.

SAP said that enterprise tools from the collaboration with Google will be available with new releases ranging from SAP BusinessObjects to mobile apps.
