SAP sets 2012 outlook with SuccessFactors in fold

Summary: The company’s new growth engines—HANA and mobile—are delivering solid results and may set the stage for SAP in future years.

SAP said that 2012 software and maintenance revenue will be up 10 percent to 12 percent including the acquisition of SuccessFactors. That deal is expected to close in the first quarter.

The outlook from SAP includes 2 percentage points of growth from SuccessFactors. SAP also said its operating profit excluding charges—non-IFRS in international accounting lingo—will be EUR 5.05 billion to EUR 5.25 billion.

As noted earlier this month, SAP reported a strong fourth quarter and 2011. The company’s new growth engines—HANA and mobile—are delivering solid results and may set the stage for SAP in future years.

SAP’s fourth quarter net income was EUR 1.20 billion on revenue of EUR 4.50 billion, up 11 percent from a year ago. For 2011, SAP delivered a profit of EUR 3.44 billion on revenue of EUR 14.23 billion, up 14 percent.
