Sims creator Will Wright on time and game simulation

Worth watching: During the When 2.0 workshop Will Wright, chief Electronic Arts designer, gave a fascinating talk about games and time [watch the video]. Games are a form of time travel for people and allow them to feel the shape of time, which is what game designers create, Wright said. The creator of the Sims series over the last 15 years, Wright is part Stephen Hawking, speaking about chaos theory and possibility spaces relative to game simulations and part game design geek.  Below is one of the slides from in his presentation, showing the topology of the Sims game.
