    Sun didn't know whether it was a hardware outfit or a software outfit. Now it doesn't know whether it's a hardware, software, or storage outfit.

    StorageTek used to be a contender in this space, but they wouldn't be on the block for a price like this if their management were executing.

    Storage depreciates faster than any other type of hardware component.

    How will Sun manage? More important, who will manage it?
