The mobility factor: how it impacts business, transport & innovation

By | February 15, 2012, 5:44am PST

Summary: Read SmartPlanet’s special feature package, “The Mobility Issue,” this week for a distinctly different approach to how mobility affects business and technology.

Been to our innovation-minded sister site SmartPlanet lately?

If you haven’t, I’d like to bring to your attention a special feature package we’re running this week.

The topic: mobility.

We talk about the concept of mobility a lot at ZDNet, usually through the narrow lenses of telecommuting, outsourcing and working from 30,000 ft. in the air.

But technology has enabled far more than that, showing us how we can ship goods from one continent to another with more intelligence, how we can better work together to come up with the next big thing, how we can travel on century-old technology without giving up modern conveniences.

SmartPlanet began publishing these special stories on Monday. The reporters responsible for the stories each spent a month working them.

We think they’re worth a read, and we hope you’ll enjoy them as much as we did.
