Mobile app maker Urban Airship on Monday announced that it raised $15.1 million in Series C funding from investors including Salesforce and Verizon.
Existing investors Foundry Group and True Ventures were also part of the round.
The investment brings the company’s total fundraising to $21.6 million and is intended to help it scale its infrastructure and build out its mobile platform of tools and services, such as in-app purchasing, geo-location and push notifications.
It follows Urban Airship’s acquisition of SimpleGeo just two weeks ago; the company’s clients include Groupon, Warner Bros., Weather Channel and Yahoo.
