Indian outsourcing giant Wipro Technologies said Monday that it will acquire Infocrossing, a U.S. outsourcing firm for about $412 million.

In a statement, Wipro said it is paying $18.70 in cash for each share of Infocrossing. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter.

The move comes as Indian outsourcing companies struggle with a rising rupee, which dings profit margins. Meanwhile, offshore outsourcing companies have been beefing up their U.S. presence as they expand into consulting and other high margin areas.

Infocrossing provides IT infrastructure management, manages enterprise applications and offers business process outsourcing services. It specializes in the health care market.

With the purchase, Wipro gets five U.S. data centers and 900 employees. Wipro said Infocrossing will allow it to better target the remote infrastructure management market.
