Yahoo's berserk IM scheduled maintenance

Yahoo scheduled some maintenance for its instant messenger from 5:30 to 7:30 PM PST, warning users that some problems may occur. Indeed, as of 9:40 Yahoo Messenger was still spawning windows by the minute and eating up system resources. At one point, before I force quit the application, Yahoo Messenger had spawned 237 windows, although they were not littering the screen, as I did in the screen shot below for demonstration purposes. 

Update: As of 9:50 Yahoo IM is working correctly again.
