BlackBerry Storm commercials are appearing on TV

Summary: Larry posted a bit earlier about the possible 17 November launch date for the BlackBerry Storm. I don't watch much TV, but I have already seen two Storm commercials (one can be found on YouTube) so I think the date is most likely correct. You can also check out the BlackBerry Storm 9530 interactive guide. It is interesting to see that the main steps shown in device setup include inserting the SIM card, yet the Storm is launching with Verizon on their CDMA network where SIM cards are not used. I understand Vodafone should be getting a GSM version of the Storm, yet the link for the demo clearly indicates it is for the US market.

If you are interested in the Storm then you may also want to spend some time browsing around CrackBerry.com since there are videos, a contest, and lots of coverage of the device on that site. You may not believe what one reader there did to win a Storm. I really need to try out the new touch screen before I decide whether or not the Storm is a device I would be interested in, but for those Verizon customers that want an experience like the iPhone the Storm may be just what they need.

The storm is a world phone, so it supports both CDMA and GSM/GPRS networks....not sure why it's surprising that they are showing a SIM card since that's required to use it globally/on GSM networks.
