Flick through iPhone search results with Taptu

Search has become one of the main functions people perform on their mobile devices and I know I use all of mine for this on a daily basis. With the finger friendly touch UI on the iPhone, it was just a matter of time before companies started rolling out iPhone-friendly optimized search applications. Taptu was announced today and is available for free in the App Store (iTunes link).

I have been playing with Taptu a bit on my iPhone 3G and have been quite happy with the UI found in the application. You can flick through results, rather than scrolling like on a desktop. I particularly like the visual previews because I can then see a bit of the result before actually selecting it and going directly to the result. Taptu also incorporates social networking tools and lets you share content (pictures, videos, links, etc.) with friends via Facebook and Twitter.

You can check out the video below to see Taptu in action.

If you have a mobile or iPhone-optimized site that you want to ensure appears on Taptu, then you can fill out the submission form.
