T-Mobile rolling out Android 1.5 cupcake update to G1 owners

A couple of days ago I mentioned that the Android 1.5 update was available for Android Developer Phone models of the G1. According to Brighthand T-Mobile USA and UK have started to roll this update out to T-Mobile G1 owners over the air. Some people are reporting that the update arrived last night, but I haven't seen mine updated yet and the last time there was an update I didn't get it for a week or so and I was one of the first to buy the G1.

Some of the updates in version 1.5 include an on-screen keyboard, new Home screen widget support, support for video playback and video capture, upload of videos directly to YouTube, A2DP Bluetooth stereo support, and more. As I mentioned, I rooted my G1 and updated already and find the improvements are nice to have. I understand that rooting or modifying your G1 may prevent the OTA update from appearing so I spent some time getting my G1 back into factory order and may not mess around with it anymore. I plan to install the official T-Mobile update though since a few pieces are missing in the HTC developer update, including Amazon MP3, all the IM clients, and more.
