Windows Phone Mango update likely coming to AT&T folks on 27 September

Windows Phone 7 with the Mango update is my personal favorite mobile phone operating system and all indications are that the update is coming next week to most AT&T customers.

I am a major fan of the Windows Phone Mango update and have been rocking it on both my HTC HD7 and Dell Venue Pro for a few weeks. The folks over at WPCentral.com just posted some great news for most AT&T customers where the Mango update should start appearing on 27 September. AT&T was the premier launch partner for Windows Phone and look to be getting the update first in the US too.

HTC HD7S customers look to be getting the update in early to mid-October while Samsung Focus users will have to check their hardware build to see when they will get the update. Those with 1.3 hardware will start getting the update on 27 September while those with 1.4 hardware will likely not get it until the end of October.

We haven't yet heard when T-Mobile, Sprint, or Verizon will roll it out to their limited device selection, but with this news we can likely expect it in October with new devices also showing up in October. Since I am quite happy with what I have, especially since I updated both my devices to 32GB memory, I am likely holding out for a Nokia Windows Phone device.
