It’s been an interesting week for what had become a fairly uninteresting desktop niche: the all-in-one (AIO) PC. First, Asetek showed off its liquid-cooled AIO prototype, and now MSI has officially revealed details of its first 3D AIO system, the AE2420.
The PC is built around a 23.6-inch LED-backlit 1080p display that has the requisite 120Hz refresh rates to handle 3D viewing without flickering spoiling the view. It comes with a pair of active shutter 3D glasses. along with a Blu-ray player to handle the few 3-D discs available. It also sports some decent specs for an AIO, including an Intel Core i5-650 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 1TB hard drive, built-in 802.11n Wi-Fi, USB 3.0 ports, and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730.
No word on pricing or availability yet, but this could spark a rash of competing 3D all-in-ones if the pricing isn’t too high.
