Tablets may be everywhere at Computex, but believe it or not, other portable products are being displayed at as well. In particular, new gaming laptops are debuting here with the released of Nvidia’s latest top mobile graphics card, the GeForce GTX 560M.
Asus (pictured above) has launched the G74Sx, its first 17-inch 3D gaming notebook. Part of its Republic of Gamers lineup, Asus’ new laptop comes with a choice of Intel Core i5 or i7 quad-core processors, and its twin-fan design helps to dissipate the massive heat top components produce. No pricing has been announced yet, and the company says it will reveal more details about the G74Sx in the coming days.
Not to be outdone, MSI has released the GT683R, a $1,599.99 gaming laptop that also makes use of the new Nvidia card. It sports an Intel Core i7-2630QM processor, 12GB of RAM, 1TB hard drive, and 15.6-inch display with 1,920×1,080, or full HD, resolution. All in all, a well-equipped system that won’t set you back thousands of dollars in order to procure some of the latest mobile hardware.
Finally, Toshiba is showing off a pair of new Qosmio gaming portables, one with 3D capabilities and one without. The Qosmio X770 will come with either a Core i5 or i7 CPU, 8GB of RAM, up to two hard drives, and, of course, the GTX 560M. The 3D version of the X770 will have similar specs, but it adds a 1,920×1,080 17.3-inch 3D screen. Fudzilla reports that the Qosmio X770s will launch in Europe this quarter, but Toshiba has not officially announced a U.S. release or pricing information for the new laptops.
Expect many other notebook manufacturers to add the GTX 560M to existing gaming laptops, such as Origin PC is already offering with its EOS line.
