Vizio, best known for its successful roster of value-priced HDTVs, surprised everyone with its announcement at CES back in January that it was entering the equally cutthroat PC market. The company has been mum since then about the launch, but Gizmodo has wrangled a confirmation out of Vizio that its first systems will be shipping this month.
In response to Gizmodo following up on a tip it received that a Vizio all-in-one desktop and a laptop will be available in Walmart stores in a couple of weeks, the company replied that the computers will indeed launch this month. However, it also said that it will disclose no specs or details about where the systems will be sold until Vizio officially launches the products later in June.
With the competition for all-in-one PCs heating up, Vizio hopes to have more luck sticking out in the computer crowd than it has done in the tablet market, where its 8-inch Android slate has largely been lost in the shuffle along with a slew of rivals.
