Summary: Coby has unveiled a few new models within their Snapp low-end pocket camcorders series. Don’t automatically try to go and compare these to the Flip or even Sony Webbie line. You’re going to get what you pay for with these cameras, but fortunately, you don’t have to pay much.

Coby has unveiled a few new models within their Snapp low-end pocket camcorders series.

Don’t automatically try to go and compare these to the Flip or even Sony Webbie line. You’re going to get what you pay for with these cameras, but fortunately, you don’t have to pay much.

Although they haven’t been released yet, all three of the new Coby Snapp camcorders are available on Amazon for pre-order, ranging from $29.99 to $78.99. They’re not entirely impressive, especially with low megapixel counts and the fact that these cams are only compatible with Windows 7/Vista/XP/2000 operating systems.

But at least if you break or lose one of these, you’ll have nothing to cry about. I wouldn’t go so far as to call them disposable (at least not the CAM5001), but they’d be good for a quick project or traveling if you’re not interested in any serious video work.
