Eye-Fi is already fairly well known for its wireless memory cards, but the company is now adding a new online portal and e-mail sharing feature called Eye-Fi View.
Although many cameras are starting to allow such a feature via the camera rather than the memory card, photographers with Eye-Fi memory cards can upload photos directly from the card to an Eye-Fi view account via Wi-Fi.
From there, photos and videos can be shared in typically gallery form. Users also have the option of e-mailing high-resolution photos to contacts in their address books, but the recipients get a link rather than a giant file in their inboxes.
If you already own an Eye-Fi X2 card, users should be able to automatically send content to their own Eye-Fi View accounts. Pricing starts at $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year for a Premium subscription with regular access to an unlimited amount of content. However, access to content uploaded within the last seven days is always free for everyone.
