Fujifilm FinePix X10 to sell for $599.95 in early November

Fujifilm announces pricing and availability on its forthcoming high-end compact camera, the FinePix X10.

Fujifilm has finally announced pricing and availability for its eagerly anticipated FinePix X10, a well-specified high-end compact camera that looks to take on cameras such as the Canon Powershot G12Olympus XZ-1, and Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5. As predicted, the camera will sell for $599.99 (shipping in early November), slightly more than its direct competition, but the G12 and the LX5 at least are probably ripe for updates in 2012.  Echoing the sexy retro design of Fujifilm's higher-end knock-out, the Fujifilm FinePix X100, the X10 currently out-specs most of the high-end compacts that are selling for about $100 less. But the proof will be in the image quality and real-world performance, so I'm looking forward to when the hardcore reviewers get their hands on this beauty. (And surely so are all the folks who couldn't stomach the $1,200 price tag of the X100.)
