Photokina is fully underway in Germany, and one of the most attractive introductions so far is the Fujifilm FinePix X100 that is decked out with all sorts of retro loveliness.

Targeted toward professionals or anyone who is a “keen enthusiast,” the FinePix X100 is intended to compete with low to midrange DSLRs and even the interchangeable-lens camera sector.

One of the standout features on this Fujifilm shooter is the hybrid viewfinder, which basically lets users toggle between optical and electronic viewfinder systems, depending on the photographer’s preference. The hybrid viewfinder also displays the shooting frame along with related data.

Here’s a glance at what else is packed in that magnesium alloy, classic camera-inspired device:

  • 12.3-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor
  • 2.8-inch LCD screen
  • EXR processor
  • Includes F2 Fujinon 23mm lens
  • 720p video recording mode
  • SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card slot

Set to launch in early 2011, pricing hasn’t been announced yet. But who doesn’t want to start saving for this beauty now?
