The interchangeable lens camcorder market is really starting to grow with the introduction of the Panasonic AF105 Micro Four Thirds video camera.
Also known as the AF100 across the pond, Panasonic asserts that this camcorder is the “world’s first” Micro Four Thirds-standard HD professional camcorder that shoots up to 1080/60i AVCHD video.
Users can squeeze up to 12 hours of recording time in high-quality PH mode or even 48 hours when shooting on the lowest setting, HE mode, when using two 64GB SDXC cards. (FYI, there are a pair of SD/SDHC/SDXC slots.)
The AF100/105 is expected to roll out starting in December with an estimated price of €4,900 ($6,272). That price supposedly won’t include lenses, so start budgeting for that too.
