Samsung rolling out five new NX series lenses

Samsung has unveiled its 2011 line up of NX system series lenses, which are set to roll out over the course of this year.

All of the lenses are compatible with Samsung's own i-Function system for quick controls and special effects. Basically these lenses are intended to deliver professional-looking photographs with less manual work. Some photographers might frown on that, but the technology implemented here is definitely worth consideration.

Leading the charge is the 18-200mm multi-purpose Long Zoom Lens (pictured right), which sports Optical Image Stabilization and a silent Auto-Focus feature that should keep things quiet when recording video.

The 60mm Macro lens(pictured above) also hosts those features, along with Full-Time Manual Focus for more skilled photographers. The rest of the collection includes the 16mm F2.4 Ultra Wide Pancake lens, the ultra-bright 85mm F1.4 CSC lens and the 16-80mm Advanced Standard Zoom lens.
