Sharp has turned up the heat when it comes to 3D technology, with the introduction of the world’s first 3D camera module for mobile devices.

The unnamed Sharp device is ready to be attached to mobile devices such as digital cameras and smartphones, and it is capable of recording high-definition 720p video in 3D.

Sharp will start shipping the 3D module as samples as soon as July, with plans to debut on the consumer market sometime before the end of 2010. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, but this doesn’t really come across as a cheap camera accessory.

But does it seem like something you’d like to get for your personal or professional photography use?

Great idea.

Cant wait to check it out.

Will viewers of the 3-D video have to wear special lenses to view the 3-D effect?
