The Sustainable Green Printing (SGP) Partnership marked its third anniversary in August, and to date the group has certified 36 North American printing companies, with four more currently in auditing process. The group hopes to get to 40 soon.

The SGP ushers in its fourth year with a new look including a new logo and a revamped Web site which includes specific details on the steps involved in certification.

Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP), founded in 2008, is an independent, non-profit organization providing a certification label for sustainability in the printing industry. SGP is the industry standard for the certification and continuous improvement of sustainability and best practices within print manufacturing operations.

The organization was initiated by several top trade associations including the Printing Industries Association (PIA),  Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA), Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) and National Association of Printing Ink Manufacturers (NAPIM).

He was born to a Russian ballerina and a German electrical engineer who some believe was running covert operations for shadowy corporate interests. Some say his obsession with paper, printing, and mechanical movement was either started by, or evidenced by, a traumatic childhood episode when he crawled inside an old Xerox 2400 and tried to print himself.

Anyway, Doc has hands on experience with stuff like printer maintenance and fleet management, but his mastery of document management leaves no stone unturned. Important issues like sustainability, security, and regulatory compliance are top of mind for Doc, as are other business technology needs like networking and IT services, making him a true blue IT renaissance man.
