Doc loves a good slide show and still has plenty of those round Carousel trays full of transparencies in his basement. But of course the definition of slide show has changed these days. In this case, there is a brief, but informative, slide presentation from Misty Gonzales over at the Photizo Group on the numbers behind the Managed Print Services (MPS) industry.

The business environment has become increasingly demanding, and economic tensions have only heightened the need for cost efficiency and increased productivity. It is the convergence of these factors that has created the lynchpin of the MPS value proposition; that a tough economic landscape drives businesses of all sizes to optimize their imaging fleets to drive savings to the bottom line. Photizo Group's 2011 MPS Market Size, Shares and Forecast study continues to confirm the effect of poor economic performance on MPS, as it predicts a rapid global growth in managed print services of 20 percent through 2015.

    • Cloud Computing and MPS Go Hand-in-Hand

Doc agrees with this comment. Managed Print Services are definitely tied in a big way to cloud-based computing. If you look at many of the MPS providers, they're singing the praises of the cloud and offering services to help companies move away from the traditional network.
