After a hard day's night a little help from my invisible friends

Summary: I tend to work late in the day and into the night because the evening events tend to be poorly attended by other journalists, there is a greater chance of bringing back a scoop. Tuesday evening I went to HP's launch of enterprise OS and server products.

Tuesday evening I went to HP's launch of enterprise OS and server products. I quickly recovered from that event and happily looked forward to one of my favorite bands Los Amigos Invisibles, playing a five minute walk away at The Independent. Lucky me.

My Invisible Friends are playing at The Independent today, too, Feb 14.

The companies paying for the events must hope for some good to come of them.

Would someone approve a plan for a press event expected to be "poorly attended"?

I have heard it said that to be inventive one must accept failures. But I'll add that success should have a fighting chance.
