The underlying business strategy for a lot of Silicon Valley/Web 2.0 companies, whether some realize it or not, is to become the "wrapper" for everything else. It is a type of "one ring that binds them all" philosophy, another metaphor that describes what is going on.

Google owns the wrapper right now. Many media and other web sites get 70 per cent or more of their traffic through Google. And that number is going up.

What other types of "wrappers" can you build? Answering that question is core to building the next big company. I think one of those companies could be Berlin, Germany based Plista. Here is why.
