Say hello to the Aircell Smartphone, hailed as the “world’s first airborne smartphone.” Besides being optimized for use on the aircraft from wheels up to wheels down, there are a few shining spots.
Some of the notable specs on this Android-based phone include a 3.8-inch color touch screen and Bluetooth connectivity. Otherwise, we’re going to have to wait and see what else is special about this mobile gadget.
However, considering passengers can’t talk (thankfully) on a cell phone while onboard most commercial airliners (with the exception of a few, like Ryanair), the Aircell Smartphone will likely be only useful to those flying on private planes.
The device will start shipping towards the end of this year, and pricing will be announced at a later date.
