For all of you Kindle owners out there, it’s time for another firmware update. Originally announced in April for a late May release, Amazon will be rolling out software version 2.5 over the next few weeks.
Since it’s been awhile since the upgrades were first introduced, let’s refresh our memories. If it wasn’t possible to share even more information on Facebook and Twitter before, it is now as Kindle users can post their favorite passages to the two social networking sites, along within the Kindle community. Functionality-wise, expect larger and sharper fonts, along with pan and zoom support for PDFs.
Above all else, users can keep Kindles extra secure with password protection now.
The update will be delivered wirelessly to Kindles, so there’s no need to do anything really. Users just need to keep the wireless turned on, or they can choose to download it from Amazon directly.
And if you don’t have a Kindle yet you’re still reading this far, don’t forget that you can enter to win one of your own from our sister site, SmartPlanet.
